OBubba ("we", "us", "our") is a baby tracking and parenting companion app built by parents, for parents. We take your privacy and your family's data seriously.
Baby tracking data: Feeds, naps, nappies, weight, milestones, activities, and notes you log. This data is stored on your device and optionally synced to our cloud backup (Firebase/Firestore) if you create an account.
Account information: If you sign up, we store your display name, email (if provided), and a family backup code. We use Firebase Authentication.
Location data (optional): If you grant permission, we use your location solely to calculate travel time to appointments you've added (e.g. GP visits, health visitor appointments). We use Apple MapKit for route calculation. Your location is used in real time only, sent to Apple's routing services for that calculation, and never stored or sent to OBubba servers. You can deny location access and manually set travel times instead.
Photos (optional): Photos you add (e.g. milestone photos, care guide profile picture) are stored on your device. If you generate a share card with a photo, the card image is created locally and only shared if you explicitly tap Share.
Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g. which features are popular). This data is anonymous and aggregated. No personal baby data is included in analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or your baby's data with any third parties. Period.
Your data may be shared only in these cases:
Your data is stored locally on your device using SQLite and localStorage. If you enable cloud backup, data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored in Firebase's secure infrastructure. We do not have access to your passwords.
OBubba requests "When In Use" location permission only. We use your location exclusively to calculate driving time to appointments using Apple MapKit. Your coordinates are sent to Apple's routing API and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We never store or log your location, and we do not send it to OBubba servers.
OBubba is designed for parents/carers to track their baby's care. We do not knowingly collect data from children. All data is entered by the parent/carer. Baby names, dates of birth, and tracking data are stored solely for the parent's use.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you in the app if any material changes are made.
