Ingredients
- 40g Quinoa (rinsed well)
- 200ml water
- 100ml Cow's milk (full fat, or formula)
- 3 Dried apricots (unsulphured, finely chopped)
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
Method
- Rinse the quinoa well in a sieve to remove the bitter coating.
- Put the quinoa, water and apricots in a pan and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the milk and cinnamon and cook for another 5 minutes until creamy.
- Blend for younger babies, or leave as it is for older ones.
- Cool before serving.
Serving it to your baby
At 6 months, blend smooth. From 9 months, serve with texture. Always chop dried fruit finely or cook it soft, as whole dried apricots can be a choking risk.
For the rest of the family
Serve adults' with fresh fruit, toasted nuts and a drizzle of honey.
Storing and reheating
Keep covered in the fridge for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat until steaming, add a splash of milk, then cool. Never reheat more than once.
